RARE EARTH ELEMENTS

Dysprosium is used in control rods for nuclear reactors because of its relatively high neutron-absorption cross section; its compounds have been used for making laser materials and phosphor activators, and in metal halide lamps.

CHARACTERISTICS

Dysprosium silver-grey heavy metal is stretchable and bendable. It is very ignoble, and therefore very reactive: it oxidizes when exposed to air, it is attacked in water, it dissolves in dilute acid. In its oxide form it is a beige-yellow powder.

Furthermore, new trends such as electric mobility, clean energy, energy efficiency, and automation are projected to increase the usage of dysprosium, propelling the worldwide dysprosium market growth. Alternatively, different technical advances in dysprosium manufacturing are expected to provide profitable prospects for the development of the dysprosium market in the future years.

TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION

Sum of control impurities in Copper Ingot (Mg, Ai, P, Ti, Cr, Mo, Cd) is no more than 0.0001% wt. The purity grade of Copper Ingot is 99.999%wt. It was calculated as difference between 100% and Sum of Impurities. Copper Ingot is radiological safe. The specific natural radioactivity of Copper Ingo is no more than 1.10-11 Ci/g. plumbed by lead “GAC/68”.

The production volume of this type of product is constantly increasing every year, which is explained by the increase in demand.

Dysprosium demand is anticipated to be valued at US$ 5.3 Billion in 2022, forecast to grow at a CAGR of 5.2% to be valued at US$ 8.8 Billion from 2022 to 2032. Due to its dominance as a producer of rare earth elements, Asia Pacific is claimed to be the largest consumer of dysprosium.
